Spring at the Villa

Spring  is a wonderful time to visit Tuscany, the gentle green hills bright with blossoming peach and cherry trees and vineyards blooming with wild flowers. Occasionally it may be a little damp, but it’s more likely that rainy days alternate with long stretches of nice weather. Wisteria was in bloom at the beginning of the month and poppies are already dotting the fields. There are tender light green leaves on the trees and everything is so bright and colourful.

It’s a great time to be at the Villa di Geggianio in Chiswick, too…

If music be the food of love, the Villa just put it on the menu

The new playlist is a mix of classical Italian with some ‘La dolce vita’ and some lounge music just in time for the warmer weather.

It’s been assembled by Simon Lawrence and created with his distinctive and sought after sound.

Simon has created the soundtracks for literally hundreds of clubs for a quarter of a century having graced the decks in over 20 countries on 4 continents and was the World’s first DJ to play at the Coliseum in Rome!

He’s also played sets at the behest of Valentino, Sir Elton John, David Furnish, Donatella Versace, Lulu & Kevin Spacey to name but a few.

Seasoned diners have selected the Villa di Geggiano for theOpenTable Diners’ Choice Awards this month. From cocktails to dessert, they were impressed!

Open Table Diners’ Choice Awards celebrate top-rated restaurants. The winners are selected according to real feedback from diners who booked through Open Table and dined with us. We’re delighted to have achieved this award so soon after our opening.


 April Artist in Residence – Charlotte Cory

Valentines-Day FRONT-BACK v1Art can be a bit of an animal – especially in the hands of Charlotte Cory. April saw the artwork of Charlotte Cory – one of the country’s leading surreal photographic artists – on display exclusively at Villa di Geggiano.

The exhibition is an imaginative, witty and informative exploration of the Brontës and the history of early photography, drawing on the Victorian craze for collecting cartes des visite – portraits once produced in their millions and now discarded. Using twenty-first century techniques, Cory creates colourful new characters for these long forgotten figures, which are at the same time poignantly reminiscent of Victorian taxidermy; animals collected and preserved for posterity in their glory, and now extinct.
